Soup Season Is Upon Us...Of Course, I Also Wanted to Go to Bed by 7 o'clock. Full Belly, but Dark Skies.

I like Daylight Savings Time in that I typically get up at the same time, but this gives me an extra hour in the morning. I used it to dice onions, carrots, peppers, and garlic, while grilling sausage, adding spinach, and making a heavy cheddar-cheese cream sauce. The result was it was delicious. I really think it is the magic of the Trinidadian spices given to me by Dr. Kris Sealey. It's also extra good to soak up with a nice chunk of bread. I had it for lunch and for dinner.

I also managed to mow the lawn one last time, this round to mostly chop up the leaves which are almost 98% off the trees. I got on a ladder, too, to clean out the gutters (all for wintering purposes). Wonderful day to hike and do some indoor cleaning, although having a framed piece of Japanese art falling on my head while moving books was not fun. The glass went everywhere, but the print (thankfully) is still salvageable. Adding a new frame to the many things I'll eventually get to.

Looking ahead to the week, it is a giant push to get much content in to both courses, as well as a week packed with meetings. I hope to come at them with calm, collection, and my mind on bigger pictures, including work I need to accomplish for CWP and NCTE ahead.

Ah, but I'm starting my day thinking about the great soup that awaits a couple more days. I'll be sad when it's gone because that means I have to cook something else.

Today, however....it's a total focus on student work and then academic council in the afternoon. I'm already tired and it's only early morning Monday.
